How to Use the Word Bingo Maker
The word bingo maker lets you create custom bingo cards from your own word list in just a few steps. Here is what each option does.
Word List
Type your words into the word list, one word per row. You can also load a previously saved game or upload an Excel file. The more words you enter, the more varied the cards will be. For a 4×4 card, we recommend at least 15 words.
Worksheet Title
Give your bingo game a name, for example the theme or lesson topic. The title is printed at the top of every bingo card.
Card Size
Choose how many words appear on each card:
- 3×3 — up to 9 words per card, great for younger players or short word lists.
- 4×4 — up to 16 words per card, the most commonly used setting.
- 5×5 — up to 25 words per card, suitable for larger vocabulary lists.
Free Bingo Spaces
A free bingo space is an empty cell that automatically counts as filled in. This reduces the number of words needed per card and makes bingo easier to call. Set it to 0 if you want all spaces filled with words.
Number of Bingo Cards
Enter how many cards you want to generate. Each card has a different word order so every player gets a unique card. For a class of 25 students, set this to 25 or more.
Cards per Page
Choose how many bingo cards are printed per page:
- 6 cards per page — smaller size, ideal for saving paper.
- 2 cards per page — larger size, easier to read for younger players.
Preview and Download
Click "Generate Word Bingo Cards" to preview a card in the preview panel. When everything looks right, click "Download the Bingo Cards" to download a PDF with all generated cards, ready to print.
