How to Use the Measuring Cup Worksheet Generator

Choose Your Unit System

Select Customary for fluid ounces (8 oz cups) or Metric for milliliters (500 ml cups). The worksheet regenerates immediately — no extra button press needed.

Read the Main Six Cups

Six measuring cups numbered 1 to 6 appear in the top section. Each cup is filled with brightly colored liquid to a specific level. Students identify the volume by reading the tick marks on the side of each cup and write the answer on the blank line below.

Complete the Pour Activity

Two larger cups labeled A and B appear at the bottom. Students are asked to pour half of cup A into cup B and calculate the new volumes in both cups. This combines reading measurement with halving and addition.

Show or Hide the Solution

Click Show Solution to overlay the correct answers on the canvas preview — useful for checking work on a projector or for creating a teacher answer key. Click Create new cups to generate a fresh random set.

Download as PDF

Click the download button to save a print-ready PDF. Include a solution page for the teacher by ticking the option before downloading.

Frequently Asked Questions — Measuring Cup Worksheets

How many measuring cups appear on each worksheet?

Each worksheet shows 6 measuring cups in the main section — arranged in two rows of three. At the bottom there are 2 larger cups used for the pour-and-measure activity.

What is the pour activity at the bottom of the worksheet?

Two cups labeled A and B are shown with different amounts of liquid. Students are asked to mentally pour half of cup A into cup B, then write the resulting volume in each cup. This exercises halving, addition, and volume reasoning all at once.

What measurement units are available?

Select Customary to use fluid ounces (oz) with an 8 oz cup and tick marks at every ounce. Select Metric to use milliliters (ml) with a 500 ml cup and tick marks every 50 ml. Switching the radio button instantly regenerates the worksheet.

How are the fluid levels chosen?

Each cup is filled to a randomly chosen level that aligns with a major tick mark — whole even ounces in customary mode, multiples of 50 ml in metric mode — so the answer is always a clean number students can read directly from the scale.

Can I download the worksheet as a PDF?

Yes. Click the download button to save a print-ready PDF. The file includes all 8 cups, measurement tick marks, and blank answer spaces. An optional solution page can be included for the teacher.

What grade levels are these worksheets suitable for?

The customary (oz) worksheets suit grades 2 to 4. The metric (ml) worksheets work well for grades 3 to 5. The pour activity adds a problem-solving dimension appropriate for the upper end of those ranges.
