What is a Word Ladder Puzzle?
A word ladder is a classic word puzzle invented by Lewis Carroll in 1877. Starting from a top word, you climb to a target word one step at a time — each step replaces exactly one letter and must produce a valid dictionary word.
How to Play
- Change exactly one letter per step — no more, no less.
- Every word you form must be a real, valid English word.
- You cannot rearrange the existing letters — only substitute one.
- Reach the target word, ideally in as few steps as possible.

How to Use the Word Ladder Puzzle Maker
